MJ Rhayne, MHC-I She/Her
Student Intern
MJ is currently a student intern completing her Mental Health Counseling degree at Adams State University and practicing under supervision with Inclusive Insights Counseling in New York State. She hopes to offer a space where you feel recognized, supported, and invited to imagine new possibilities for yourself.
Therapeutic Focus & Style
I work with individuals, couples, and families, and am well-versed in working with the queer and trans community, as well as navigating kink, BDSM, sex worker, and non-conventional relationship structures. I strive to honor the impact of systemic oppression and the barriers it creates, including power dynamics, intergenerational trauma, accessibility issues, and internalized narratives.
Approach
My approach is grounded in curiosity, and a belief that our behaviors, patterns and emotions contain information directing us to our deeper needs, values and desires if we’re willing to sit with them. Through our work, we can co-create a non-judgemental space to explore this landscape.
I aim to bridge self-insight with mindfulness, somatic work, and tools for self-regulation, which can be both personally and relationally empowering, enabling us to make choices that we feel aligned with. This may be particularly resonant for individuals who struggle with mental illness, neurodivergence, chronic pain, disassociation or body dysphoria, or other marginalization.
Insurance & Access
MJ accepts a wide range of insurance plans including, but not limited to: Aetna; Cigna / Evernorth; Fidelis; BCBS, MVP Sliding Scale, Out-of-Network options, & free/ reduced sessions for Trans and BiPoc folks.
